Stanley W. Posey serves as the Deputy Director for Program Development in the Office of Agricultural Water Policy. In that role, he works with Director Andy Rackley and the other talented and dedicated staff of the Office on:* Development and implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) for all kinds of agricultural operations, concentrating on water quality and water use* BMP implementation assurance, verification and research* Direct support for growers and producers, including cost-share programs for capital improvements, mobile irrigation labs, and technical assistance with BMP implementation. Stan has an extensive background in water policy. As an environmental manager in the mining and fertilizer manufacturing industry, he formed and implemented strategies for improving water quality and reducing water use, and also served on both the model development steering committee and stakeholder advisory committee for the north Florida regional water supply plan. Over his 30+ year career, Stan has worked successfully with a wide variety of environmental regulatory programs at federal, state, regional, and local levels. He holds degrees in mineral engineering and law from the University of Alabama. Stan and his wife Gail live in Tallahassee. They have two sons: Marine Staff Sergeant James Posey (wife Jessica), stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, and Reverend Wil Posey (wife Lea, son Nathanael), serving at First United Methodist Church, Murphy, NC.
